David joined SPIE Matthew Hall on Terminal 5 Heathrow in 2005, as Commercial Manager, progressing to Commercial director and made an immediate impact, improving our commercial controls, client relations and accurate forecasting.
This prestigious project, value £383m for M&E Services was pivotal to the success of the business overall and through the hard work and dedication of the team was delivered on time, to budget and to the highest safety standards achieved in the UK. David was held in high regard by the client, their professional team and the Board of SMH, it would be safe to say without his support and input, the result could have been significantly reduced.
Following on from T5, initially David took Commercial Control of our Heathrow Office and then became the Commercial Director responsible for the English & Welsh Regions, in this period we opened up four new offices geographically expanding building services throughout the regions. He has an eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills and drive results from his team
In addition to and following the successful completion of the Terminal 5 project, in his role as Regional Commercial Director for Spie Matthew Hall, David was commercially responsible for a number of diverse projects across both Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, some of which are listed below.
The role encompassed all pre and post-contract services including negotiation of Contract terms (JCT, NEC, Bespoke terms) and with site works undertaken in a live operational facility.
