Contract 302, The Passenger Terminal Building, Hong Kong International Airport

Employed by Balfour Beatty but seconded to the British Chinese Japanese Joint Venture, which comprised AMEC International Construction Limited, Balfour Beatty Limited, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Hong Kong Construction (Holdings) Limited and Maeda Corporation.   Formed part of the commercial team on the HK$10.1 billion (circa £825M) Passenger Terminal Building at Hong Kong’s new international airport.

  • Principle responsibilities were the commercial management and administration of several work packages.
  • Duties included the establishment and implementation of commercial control procedures; preparation of interim certificates; preparation and agreement of sub-contract final accounts; internal cost reporting; valuation and agreement of variations with the Client; identification and notification of claim opportunities; 
  • Management of a small team to research and compile the successful blockwork disruption and prolongation claim to the Airport Authority.
